Poudre Valley Coop is affected by this power outage and will be closed until power is restored.
We continue to closely monitor and prepare for a strong wind event and likely Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in Colorado forecast to start Friday, Jan. 16, for about 9,000 customers in Larimer and Weld counties, including in parts of Fort Collins and nearby communities.
To reduce the risk of wildfire and support public safety, we are planning for a likely PSPS beginning on Jan. 16 around 8 a.m. Weather conditions are expected to start improving around 4 p.m. Friday. Power restoration will begin as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Restoring outages may take several hours to several days, as crews must inspect power lines and repair damage before safely re-energizing.
Temporarily shutting off power – known as a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) – is not a step taken lightly and is only used when needed to help prevent wildfires. To learn more about the evolving situation and how to prepare for an outage, visit xcelenergy.com/wildfire
