Yesterday, the Mountain Sage classes of 2022 returned as high school seniors for the Grad Walk. They walked the halls, visited the classrooms, and played on the playground, remembering their time at, and connection to, their home at Mountain Sage. Teachers from their middle school and elementary years came to visit, too. Congratulations to the high school graduating Class of 2026! ๐ We are so proud of you. ๐

Last weekend, the Mountain Sage community gathered for our annual May Faire and Plant Sale. It was a sight to behold! This year's event included fantastic new features: a welcoming arch of decorated branches from the 5th grade, a dance by the 2nd grade, rose petal tossing in between dances by Forest School and 1st grade, and a Student Expo, which showcased amazing school work from this academic year . . and all of that in addition to the beautiful dances of grades 3rd-5th, face painting, and the Plant Sale. It was a joyful morning and a wonderful reminder of how delightful it is when we gather and celebrate together. Beautifully done, Mountain Sage!

This April, Mountain Sage has partnered with Natural Grocers / in Fort Collins to celebrate Earth Month and the mighty ladybug! Student works of art from grades 3-8, plus photos of a 2nd grade ladybug release in our school garden, can be found around the store. Look for:
๐ 2nd grade photos of students releasing ladybugs in our year-round school garden after learning about pollinators
๐ 3rd grade wet-on-wet paintings; this is a traditional Waldorf-inspired method of painting
๐ 4th grade pastel chalk drawings on black paper
๐ 5th grade 3-D art
๐ Middle School watercolor and acrylic paintings and handmade ladybugs in wool felt and cross-stitch
Our arts-integrated school weaves all forms of art into student learning on a day-to-day basis. We love seeing the creativity and expression from our students outside the school hallways, and we love that Natural Grocers supports schools like Mountain Sage. Stop by and check it out!

Recently, our 7th grade students engaged in an imaginative process to create blackout poetry art works that combine found text with visual imagery to express a poetic message. They transformed old pages from repurposed library books, to highlight meaningful words, black out or cover the rest, and design mixed-media illustrations that visually reinforce the theme of their poem.
