When there are firsts there are always lasts. This week we are seeing some of our Otters for the last time before they start Kindergarten. Some of them have been with us since they were itty bitty, others juts a bit over a year. Regardless of their time here, we will miss seeing their faces here daily ( especially the one writing this post right now who has seen them over my four years at La Familia and who has an Otter going to Kindergarten in two weeks)
Personally I have seen many of these amazing kids since there were starting to walk and make full sentences. The newer additions have also imprinted in my son’s heart and I know he will miss them dearly. Having being able to see their growth from my Development Director lens, who can see the impact community care and support has had in the lives of many of the kids at El Nidito, to being a mother who has felt the love, care and deep nurturing that is given to each child, including my own, I have nothing but gratitude to La Familia, its leadership, staff and teachers including all the community members who have helped its mission continue for 31 years.
I know I can speak for all when i wish the graduating Otters the best of luck, fun and dream making that is in their future. Keep on being your sweet, strong and caring selves who will make this a better place for all.
