The Su***de Prevention Resource has three components:
1.) Strategies are the collection of actions to achieve the goal of preventing su***de.
2.) Approaches are the specific ways to advance each strategy.
3.) Policies, programs, and practices show evidence of impact on su***de, su***de attempts, or risk and protective factors.

States and communities can use the Su***de Prevention Resource to prioritize and tailor activities that are most likely to reduce su***de.

CDC published this as a part of their Comprehensive Su***de Prevention roadmap to action plan.

CDC works to illuminate detailed information about homicides within American Indian / Alaska Native communities. This is important to continue the work of prevention, as homicide is the leading cause of death (AI/ANs).

According to the National Violent Death Reporting System, homicide is a leading cause of death for American Indians/Alaska Natives. Intimate partner violence contributes to many of these deaths, particularly among females.
