A bat is the 3rd most common weapon kept in cars by drivers. If you can't get away, by stepping into their space we're actually minimalizing damage to ourselves if a mistake is made because the force decreases the further you get from the end of the bat.

You won't always be on flat ground in a fighting stance. It's good to practice different levels of preparedness and footing.
