The Integrative Biology Lab at CSU is a research facility focusing on human physiology.

We are currently keeping ourselves busy and out of prison by addressing the following broad research areas of human physiological function:

Control of blood glucose
Regulation of energy expenditure

We are able to address our research questions by utilizing a variety of research tools and manipulations that include, but are not limited to: magic, pharmacology, hypoxia, sprint interval training, c

Participate in a Study - Human Performance Clinical Research Laboratory 04/24/2022

This past Thursday, two of our own AMAZING undergraduate student researchers, Hannah and Matt, presented their research at the CURC symposium to Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity!

Hannah presented the findings from a recently published study that looked at edible ma*****na, the influence of body composition, and its potential effects on glucose regulation. To read more, check out this link below to read our manuscript!

Matt, on the other hand, presented recently collected data from a study that investigated the influence of Cannabidiol (CBD) on the health of both the liver and kidneys. While this research isn't published yet, feel free to check out our other CBD studies we have going on in the lab! Maybe you'll qualify for one of our studies!

Great job to the both of you!

Participate in a Study - Human Performance Clinical Research Laboratory We're always seeking volunteers to participate in a study. Benefits usually include assessment of body composition, VO2max, and/or blood chemistry analysis.

We're recruiting for a medicine and weight loss study!!

The Human Performance Clinical/Research Laboratory in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at the Colorado State University is seeking volunteers to participate in studies investigating the interaction of the diabetes medicine, Dapagliflozin, and weight loss.

Volunteers should be aged 18-65 years, weigh more than they prefer, be free of diabetes, and not be pregnant and/or regular exercisers.

Benefits for study volunteers include the following: exercise testing, body composition (including whole-body bone mineral density and % body fat), and tests of blood sugar control (related to diabetes).

The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at CSU will provide one-on-one dietary counseling over 12 weeks at no cost to the study participants.

Financial compensation will be provided for time spent in the laboratory.

Potential risks for study volunteers: you may be required to ingest the new diabetes medicine, Dapagliflozin; you will drink sweetened water twice; you will donate a small amount of blood; and you may lose weight.

For more information, please contact the lab via email: [email protected]
