PTO Barsanti Elementary Encouraging parent involvement & Boosting our Bulldogs by supporting academic & enrichment activities

Our school is named in honor of Major General Olinto Mark Barsanti; a highly decorated officer of the U.S. Army's elite 101st Airborne Division (the Screaming Eagles). During the Vietnam War, Barsanti was the Commanding General charged with Operation Eagle Thrust, the largest and longest military airlift ever attempted into a combat zone. In his 31-year military career, Barsanti also served in Wor

ld War II and the Korean War. He earned more than 60 awards, medals and commendations, including the Distinguished Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Distinguished Flying Cross and seven Purple Hearts. Kindergarten — 7,542 pts

What a week of coins, strategy, surprises, and some serious competition! It was so fun to see the sibling rivalry, the excitement from all the children, and the sabotage between the grades!

Today’s results are in, and WOW… what a shake-up!

1st Place: 3rd Grade — 5,126 pts
2nd Place: 1st Grade — 3,105 pts
3rd Place: Kindergarten — 1,409 pts
4th Place: 2nd Grade — 1,095 pts
5th Place: 4th Grade — 1,036 pts

And just like that… 3rd Grade has taken the lead!

🐷🪙 PENNY WAR IS BACK! 🪙🐷

It’s that time of year again—and this year, we’re Popping the Pig!

Penny Wars starts MONDAY! K-4 students can bring their coins and dollar bills each morning and drop them off at the Penny War table set up in the front of the school.

The bulletin board will be updated with grade standings after each count, and we’ll also post daily updates on our page!

The winning grade will be announced FRIDAY after school and will win an ICE CREAM SUNDAE BAR!

Coins ADD points to your grade!

Quarter = +25 points
Dime = +10 points
Nickel = +5 points
Penny = +1 point

Want to lower another grade’s score? Add dollar bills to their jug to subtract points from their total!

DOLLAR BILLS = NEGATIVE POINTS!

$1 = −10 points
$5 = −50 points
$10 = −100 points
$20 = −200 points

We hope they had the best time getting settled in and making the sweetest memories as they begin their learning journey with us. We can’t wait to watch them learn, grow, and shine! 💙
