🎉 BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO OFFICER FRED! 🎉

Please help us congratulate Officer Fred on obtaining compliance certification from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security!

This summer, Fort Branch Community School underwent an extensive state safety audit. A state official spent more than five hours at the school physically inspecting the building, reviewing our Safety Management Plan in detail, and asking questions about our procedures and practices.

As with any thorough review, a few recommendations were made—and we have already put those best practices into place. 👏

But what makes this even better is that the state also identified several things we are already doing exceptionally well. In fact, we were asked to share some of our practices so they can potentially be shared with other schools across Indiana!

School safety is truly a team effort, and this is something our entire South Gibson family can be proud of!

POTENTIAL TRAVEL ISSUE — HAUBSTADT

Utility lines are currently down on Gibson Street near Third Avenue in Haubstadt. The roadway is passable but restricted to one lane at this time.
We are currently awaiting the utility provider to move the line and allow the roadway to fully reopen. The utility company has been notified but was unable to provide an estimated arrival time.
Please be aware that the lane may be narrow for larger vehicles, including buses. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute and consider an alternative route if possible.
We appreciate everyone's patience while crews work to safely clear the roadway.

And just like that… the first week of school is in the books! 📚✏️😎

Okay, technically it was a short week… but between early mornings, new schedules, packed hallways, buses rolling, and everyone trying to remember what day it was, we’re counting it as a win!

A huge THANK YOU to our students, parents, teachers, staff, bus drivers, lunch ladies, administrators, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the start of the 2026–2027 school year such a great one.

It was awesome seeing the schools full of energy again, catching up with familiar faces, and welcoming some new ones along the way.

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and well-earned weekend! Get some rest, enjoy the break, and we’ll be ready to do it all again Monday morning! 😎

Great first week, South Gibson! ❤️💙

We are here to help keep our schools safe, but we are also available as a resource for students, parents, guardians, and staff. Students, remember: make good choices, be kind, get to class on time, and please do not make us learn a new TikTok trend the hard way.

Parents, we promise to look after them during the day. We cannot promise they will remember where they left their Chromebook, lunchbox, water bottle, or homework.

Let’s make this a safe, successful, and fun school year. Welcome back—we are glad you are here!

Today, the Gibson County Project Lifesaver team conducted hands-on training at the Princeton City Park as we continue preparing to serve our community.

This training helps ensure our responders are ready to quickly and safely locate individuals who may wander due to autism, Alzheimer’s, dementia, Down syndrome, or other cognitive conditions. Every minute matters, and ongoing training helps us provide the best possible response when families need us most.

A special thank you to the Princeton Fire Department for taking part in today’s training. Your professionalism, teamwork, and willingness to help make our community safer does not go unnoticed. Thank you for being outstanding role models and partners in public safety.

Project Lifesaver is built on collaboration, and we’re proud to work alongside the incredible first responders throughout Gibson County.

If you have a loved one who may benefit from Project Lifesaver or would like more information about the program, please reach out to us. Together, we’re making Gibson County a safer place for everyone. 🧩💙🚓🚒🚑
