On Monday Kayla and I went over to the fairgrounds to talk with some of the K9 officers. Kayla’s dad, Tom Golden, said to go over and he gave them a heads up. Well we met 4 very nice gentlemen from Huntington who immediately said we can go now and do a demo for the kids. Wow to stop everything and just jump in their SUV and come straight here for the kids was awesome. We had 4 amazing dogs, 2 were drug sniffing dogs and the other 2 were apprehending dogs. No I am sure my title for them is not totally correct, sorry. The kids were able to watch the dogs smell out drugs and notify their handlers. Amazing how their noses can detect such a small amount. The next 2 dogs demonstrated how they protect their handlers and help by apprehending someone until their handlers take over. Very strong obedient dogs. We learned that these dogs were purchased from Holland and Ireland and they are not cheap. Our very own Nick Wilson showed for the ending and has agreed to bring his K9 this summer for a demo for all the children. We appreciate all the hard work the K9 and handlers do to keep us all safe. West Virginia Police Canine Association has been in Mineral County last two day. TODAY @5 go watch a demo at the fairgrounds in Fort Ashby. These K9 are amazing to watch and your kids will enjoy it as much as you will.

We had the great privilege of them visiting us yesterday! More pictures to follow.
