Yesterday we had our last guest from DNR. Sergeant Adam Kuykendal visited with one of his drones that they use. Very interesting to see the detail of how a drone can capture a picture from far away. He educated the kids on what drones are used for, how high they can go and how far away someone stear one out of sight. Sergeant Adam demonstrate how they can drop items to people out of reach until help reaches them. Drones have only been used with DNR for couple years and they expect to have more use in the future to help keep us safe and locate anyone who maybe lost.
Thank you again for the visit!

Well these guest just keep amazing us every time. Today we had Terry Srout from DNR. He is the Game Warden. What a lot of information he taught the kids today and showing the different animal hides. Today was only for the school age kids so crowd was smaller and able to get more information out. Reminder that all kids age 15 must get fishing and hunting licenses and take hunter safety course. These are very important. Also teach your kids about when they can and cannot trap or hunt. Ask them questions about everything they learned today because they all were very engaged. Thank you again for taking the time to come out!!!

Thank you to the Fort Ashby EMS for stopping by and showing the kids all about the ambulance. Most people have no idea that Mineral County is the only county in WV that still has 100% volunteer EMS and fire dept ambulance system!!! Wow it’s great having people in our area to care so much for others to give up their free time. They all have jobs on top of helping out others. Thank you for all that you do to help others in need and to come out to talk to the kids.
