Construction Tech at The OC

We have even more to celebrate from the SkillsUSA State competition! We are thrilled to announce that our Teamworks crew took home 4th Place in an incredibly competitive field.

These guys put in hours of preparation to represent The OC and Forney ISD on the big stage, and it showed. We are so proud of your hard work and craftsmanship!

Our OC Construction Skills team officially wrapped up their rookie year with an impressive showing at the SkillsUSA State competition. It was a weekend defined by grit, precision, and professionalism.

A special standout performance came from Kasen Land, who earned the Bronze Medal with a 3rd place finish in the carpentry competition. Kasen’s work was nothing short of exceptional; his build displayed a level of craftsmanship and technical mastery that truly set him apart. His dedication to the trade and focus throughout the event resulted in a high-caliber project that we are incredibly proud to celebrate.

The talent across the rest of our team was equally evident The Teamworks Crew: Ryan Barbour, Johan Loyola, Anthony Rayo, and Victor Machado demonstrated incredible synergy. They worked at a relentless pace over their grueling 16-hour competition, showing the kind of endurance and teamwork that defines true professionals. I’m incredibly proud of the amount of growth they have made in the short period of time since they decided to take on this challenge.

Marco Martinez competed in carpentry and proved to be a strong, formidable competitor, delivering a build that showcased his skill and potential in the field.

Watching these students translate their hard work into a high-pressure, hands-on environment was a highlight of the year. We are extremely proud of what this group has accomplished in their rookie season and look forward to seeing them continue to build on this success!

Please help me congratulate our Skills USA construction team at The OC. We headed to TSTC in Waco this Friday for the District 5 competition and came away with a lot of hardware. Every member of the team had great performances and the students below came away with medals,

They will now head to Corpus Christi in April to compete in the State competition.

Our O.C. seniors have been hard at work designing these Cabana Style Sheds for their senior project. They are now getting to start the framing process and are doing fantastic work. When finished these will be equipped with bar tops, sinks, and have electrical ran for multiple receptacles and lights. These will be perfect next to a pool or on someone's property who is looking for storage and entertainment. These cabana sheds will be up for sale later in the year, if you're interested reach out and I will give you more details.

The OC seniors successfully applied the knowledge they gained from our roofing module to installing shingles on their shed project.
