Building confidence, character and leadership on and off the mat. AHMA is a full service, friendly, family martial arts academy.

We are a husband and wife team with a combined 90+ years of martial arts experience, fully committed to each one of our students. We teach a versatile mixed martial arts system, unique to us. Our students are taught the most practical elements of various martial arts disciplines, including our own ideas and concepts, in one complete program. Over our many combined years of teaching, this approach

has and continues to consistently develop students who are proficient in multiple areas of self defense - including blocking, striking, takedowns, grappling and submission. We have age specific programs for students 4 years old through adult. For more information please visit our website.

I realized I’ve never formally introduced myself here. So, hi. 👋🏻 I’m Master Melissa.

I’ve been a student of the arts for 34 years and have made a career of teaching for over two decades. Somewhere along the way, what started as something I love became something much bigger – my purpose.

The opportunity to walk alongside each and every student through their journey and help them discover the strength that already exists inside of them is one of my greatest blessings.

To me, martial arts has never just been about what we do on the mat, it’s about who we become along the way. My mission, first and foremost, is to help people develop confidence in who they are, remember their worth, align with their purpose, stay connected to their values and have the courage to shine their own unique light into the world.

Empowerment. Leadership. Love.

That’s really the heart behind True North Martial Arts and how I landed on the name.

I’m incredibly grateful that I get to call this my work. 🩵
