Retan Rifles The elite honor drill team at Fork Union Military Academy Retan Rifles is the elite drill team and honor company at Fork Union Military Academy.

It was named after 2LT George Owen Retan, both FUMA and Cornell University Alumnus. He was a member of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of 101st Airborne who was killed in the invasion of Holland in 1944. Retan Rifles, at its peak in the 1980's, was a nationally recognized unit that represented Fork Union Military Academy throughout the united states. Recently, it has made its return to campu

s as its own unit, consisting of some of the best cadets representing the school at parades and on national television.
