Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course

Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course catherine yronwode's conjure course At the beginning of the year 2003, i decided to focus my teaching on a series of 52 weekly lessons.

By 2011, more than 1,700 students had enrolled in the Correspondence Course and we have formed an active and permanent Yahoo groups elist forum for discussion of hoodoo. Nothing written for this Correspondence Course will be placed online at the Lucky Mojo web site; it's a private class, sent only to people who want to study the matter in greater depth than through the web site. Both theoretical and practical matters are covered, including free magic spells, herbal information, tips on how to work with the tools of conjure, chit-chat about what it's like to be a root doctor working for clients, and a lot of inside information that is not available through my books.

The five-petalled Wild Rose, when given in a bouquet, is a symbol of spontaneous and free love. Rose Hips, the edible apple-like fruits of the Rose which ripen in Fall, make eccentric bouquets which are emblematic of good health and a cheerful disposition. They come in many colours, just like Apples do, from red and orange through yellow and green, and some are even black. High in natural Vitamin C, Rose Hips, when taken as a tea or made into jam, support the growth and repair of all body tissues, and uplift the immune system. I am keeping my regular Friday office hours (4:00 PM to Midnight Pacific Time) at Hoodoo Psychics today. Call me for a quick, accurate tarot or pendulum reading or for easy-to-follow spell-casting advice. -- Miss cat, 1-888-4-HOODOO, extension 1111.

The AIRR Tech Team brought out their shovels and stone cleaning equipment as they worked to bring you an improved web page on The Dead and the Graveyard. Working with the dead is a form of spirit contact that includes a broad range of beliefs and practices, from visitation and prayer to the burial of curses. Root doctors may contact their ancestors, seek the aid of spirits and spirit guides for the aid of their clients, or collect graveyard dirt for use in hoodoo spells of all kinds. Learn how it is done and how to do it! Catherine Yronwode wrote the text, with contributions from Papa Newt and Miss Michaele. Catherine and Papa Newt did proofreading while improving the site-wide linking. Catherine and Nagasiva Yronwode sourced and photo-edited images from Lukianos, Ztudiototo, and Unknown Photographers, and Nagasiva created this graphic announcement. Check out our somber page on The Dead and the Graveyard!

We recently produced a new Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour podcast on Magical Spells with Salt, and this week we continue to put more of those spells into text form on an enhanced version of our extant page on Salt Spells in Hoodoo. These rootwork treasures come from the folklore collection of Harry M. Hyatt and are valued for their authenticity and their use of old-time techniques for protecting yourself from magic, driving off enemies, and ridding your home of ghosts and demons. This great collection of Salt Spells dates from 1936 to 1940 and it will surely open your eyes to domestic conjure.

Yes, i normally give Patrons a one year advance on my new work, but since the podcast on salt was posted on YouTube on Sunday, September 27th, 2026, i have decided to release the second installment of the greatly revised Patreon version of the Salt updates, and the podcast in sync, all at once.

"Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" at the Lucky Mojo web site consists of hundreds of free pages about African American conjure and root magic, written and uploaded to the web over a period of 25 years. Patreon members support the site with contributions of $8.00 per month and have one-year advance access to the pages. If you are not yet familiar with the public portion of the site, check it out!

Thanks to my Patrons, who contribute as little as $2.00 per week for an exclusive one-year sneak-peek behind the scenes, i am able to write a new web page every week on the history of folk magic and divination. "The Hypnotism Bibliography, Part Nine at YIPPIE," is accompanied by banjos! But just when you feel comfortable with four stout men standing on your chest and abdomen as you lay stiff as a board between the backs of two chairs, along come the Freudians, the Dianeticians, and the just plain looney-tunes doctors who aim to hypnotize you with chloroform and cure your neurosis, depression, inferiority complexes, alcoholism, drug addiction, hay fever, arthritis, dermatitis, lethargy, sex-fetishism, and slipped disks!

Will you survive? Will hypnotism itself survive? Who knows? Join my Patreon supporters and find out what the heck is going on with the Hypno-Bibliography at the Yronwode Institution for the Preservation and Popularization of Indigenous Ethnomagicology!

Find the newest version of this document now at:

The YIPPIE web site includes bibliographies on an array of occult and spiritual topics currently open to the public, for the aid of scholars, researchers, and students at http://yronwode.org

The Daylily has acquired its name because each flower on the stalk, no matter how radiantly beautiful, lasts only one day, from morning to night, then withers and falls away, as another bud prepares to take its place next day. Its taxonomic name, Hemerocallis fulva, translates to "Tawny-Red-Yellow Day-Beauty" -- which describes it perfectly. Because Daylily flowers are so fleeting and their crumpled fall is so swift, to present them to a woman in a bouquet is a bit of an insult, with the meanings of "Coquetry," "Idle Flirtation," and "You Were Lovely for a Single Day."
