🎭💜💛💚 Carson’s 2nd Grade Adventures! 💚💛💜🎭

Today, our 2nd graders celebrated Fat Tuesday by learning the fun and the meaning behind Mardi Gras!

They discovered that the colors aren’t just pretty—purple represents justice, green represents faith, and gold represents power. 💜💚💛

Students learned the tradition of the king cake, including the exciting search for the hidden baby and its meaning—good luck, responsibility, and leadership for the one who finds it!

They also enjoyed festive beads, explored Mardi Gras traditions, and created their own decorated hats full of color and creativity!

This was more than a celebration—it was a joyful lesson in culture, tradition, and learning through experience.

Carson’s 2nd grade made Fat Tuesday meaningful, memorable, and full of fun! 💜💛💚

🎈Carson’s 2nd Grade Adventurers Had a POP-tastic Day! 🎈

Today our class floated into fun as we read Balloons Over Broadway and learned all about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! After watching a cool video about how those giant balloons come to life, our adventurers got to make their own balloon animals!

And the best part? We ended the day with our very own 2nd Grade Balloon Parade through the school!

What a fantastic way to celebrate creativity, teamwork, and Thanksgiving fun!

Carson’s Little Explorers had a sweet week celebrating Red Ribbon Week at Scott Central!

We topped off the fun with our “Scare Away Drugs” costume day and an ice cream and pizza party to celebrate! Our 2nd grade teacher even joined in the fun dressed as an Ice Cream Sundae!

Our creative crew also painted cans for the 2nd grade booth at Trunk or Treat — they turned out amazing!

What a wonderful week of fun, creativity, and learning to make healthy, drug-free choices!

Dot Day is all about creativity, courage, and making your mark on the world. Our students painted their own unique dots, letting their imaginations soar while learning that even the smallest mark can lead to something big.

Mrs. Carson’s Explorers are learning that reading is even more fun when shared!

This week, our 2nd graders enjoyed partner reading—taking turns, listening closely, and helping each other along the way. Shared reading not only builds fluency and confidence, but also strengthens teamwork, listening skills, and a love for stories. 💙

Every giggle, every page turned, and every “aha!” moment is helping these young readers fall more in love with reading each day.

🌍✈️ Little Explorers’ Friday Quest✈️🌍

Mrs. Carson’s 2nd Grade Adventurers packed their “passports” and took a trip to Paris today! After learning about the world-famous Eiffel Tower, our explorers became engineers—building their own amazing towers out of toothpicks + marshmallows.

Some were tall, some were wobbly, but ALL were full of creativity and giggles!

Our Fridays are all about big adventures for little explorers!
