JMKent Piano Studio My name is Jeanne Kent and I have been teaching private piano lessons for 25+ years. I especially L I especially enjoy teaching beginning students.

JMKent Piano Studio is a private studio located in my home in Forest, Virginia (very close to Lynchburg. I have a degree in music education from San Diego State University and have been teaching piano lessons for over 25 years.

Bartolomeo Cristofori of Italy is credited with inventing the piano. He was a harpsichord maker who was fed up with the inability of musicians to control the volume of the harsichord--so he came up with his own design! Here is a picture of one of Cristofori's earliest-known pianos, dating from 1720!
