We’re counting down these last few days, but our school spirit remains strong!!! ESA cadets donned their program uniforms and hard hats today to promote their favorite public safety career field. Congratulations to 3rd watch for winning during their scheduled section’s competition and a tip of the helmet to our fellow FFA and Industrial Maintenance students for winning in their sections too. Our 1st-year ESA cadets completed their training on DUI enforcement. Using simulator-goggles, they experienced the visual effects of driving under the influence of various drugs and intoxicants. Based on the number of cones struck throughout the day, our teams learned just how dangerous “drunk-driving” can be.

Our awesome cadets recently competed in the Spring 2026 Teen CERT Challenge hosted by the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security and held at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Pearl. Forest-Scott County CTC teams placed 1st in Search and Rescue, 1st in Fire Extinguisher and Utility Control, and 3rd in Scene Stabilization and Victim Rescue. Our sincerest thanks to all the agencies that came together to make this event a tremendous learning experience for everyone.

Our thanks to Mr. Creel (automotive) and Mr. Winsted (industrial maintenance) for their help in raising the Academy’s new radio antenna. This will allow us to listen to broadcasts made by our local emergency services as well as other agencies on MSWIN, the state’s public safety radio network.

We have received a high volume of emergency calls directly to the fire station over the past few months. Please remember to dial 911 in case of an emergency. There are instances when no one is available to answer calls at the station, as dispatch is located elsewhere and staffed 24/7 to provide prompt assistance.
