Curriculum:
In Practice: Students interact with the material environment, their peers, and the adults in the classroom during planned experiences and spontaneous play. In Planning: Goal oriented activities are planned for interactions at the individual, small group, and whole group level. The content areas are presented in an integrated format around a core unit of study. The Illinois Early Learning Standards define the content areas as language arts, math, science, social science, physical development, and health, fine arts, foreign language, and social/emotional development. Student's success is recorded from topic introduction through mastery. In Assessment: Development growth is carefully observed and charted with the use of development checklists. The individual student's growth is recorded for use in lesson planning. Growth occurs across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language domains,
The Results: The whole child is prepared for the formal school setting. They have achieved their developmental milestones and they have found mastery in the content areas.
