Yesterday, November 11th, the CCPS Elementary Department of Social Studies was honored to join Unidos Dual Language School for their Veterans Day Celebration! 💙❤️

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Unidos team for the invitation and for creating such a meaningful tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. Your program beautifully reflected the spirit of unity, gratitude, and respect that Veterans Day represents.

Today and every day, we honor our Veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms. 🇺🇸✨

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our country and united us in resilience and hope. Each year, we commemorate 9/11 to honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the spirit of a nation that came together in the face of tragedy.

One story that continues to inspire us is that of Genelle Guzman-McMillan. On the morning of September 11th, she went to work on the 64th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. When the towers fell, she was trapped beneath the rubble for 27 hours—the last person to be found alive. Her survival stands as a powerful reminder of courage, hope, and the will to live even in the darkest moments.

Today, let us take a moment to reflect, to honor those we lost, and to ensure that future generations understand why we will never forget.

Last Friday, fifty students from Morrow Middle School were selected to go to the State Bar of Georgia - Journey Through Justice! They were able to learn about criminal/civil laws, juvenile justice, torts, and the Constitution. After passing the state bar exam, students became honorary Attorney’s for the day! 👨🏾‍⚖️🌎👩🏽‍⚖️
