This past Wednesday was our final parent workshop offered in collaboration with Hey There Beautiful. This event celebrated personal growth, insights, and connections formed over the past months. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

Honored to have the support of the United Federation of Teachers in this race.

Across New York City, UFT members are the educators and school workers who make public education possible. They teach our children, support our classrooms, guide students through challenges, and keep our school communities strong.

Nearly 200,000 members make up the UFT, including teachers, paraprofessionals, school secretaries, counselors, nurses, therapists, family child care providers, retirees, and many others who serve our city every day.

I’m proud to stand with UFT members in the fight for strong public schools, fair contracts, and a real fix to Tier 6.

This past Wednesday, the UFT proudly hosted its 60th Annual RTC Luncheon, celebrating the dedication and commitment of our retired and active members.

Congratulations to all those recognized for 50, 60, and 70 years of UFT membership. We are especially proud to congratulate Kennith Achiron of LIC High School on reaching the remarkable milestone of 50 years of union membership. Thank you for your decades of service, advocacy, and commitment to public education and union solidarity.

On June 10, Priscilla Castro, the Paraprofessional Chapter chair, will be testifying at the City Council budget hearing. As she makes the case for our RESPECT check, we will be asking all UFT members to wear blue in solidarity with our paraprofessionals on that day. We want to send the message that we all stand united in our support of the paraprofessional RESPECT check and that all eyes are on the Council.

Through StubHub's Access New York Program, members of the PS 171Q soccer team in District 30 have won tickets to attend a FIFA World Cup match later this month. These lucky students will have the chance to experience world-class soccer firsthand as they watch Norway take on Senegal.

Experiences like this inspire young athletes, broaden horizons, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to the students, coaches, and school community on this exciting achievement. We hope everyone enjoys an unforgettable day at the World Cup!
