Looking for educational opportunities within the disability ministry field?
I know it's hard to think about back-to-school time when it's still July, but now may be the right time for you to decide on the next step for your disability ministry education. If you're interested, here are some programs I'm involved in at different levels:
Master's level: At Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, you can get either a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Christian Education in disability ministry. It will include four classes: Theological and Biblical Foundations for Disability Ministry, Disability Inclusion in the Church, Whole Family Care, and Strategic Organization for Disability Ministry. The classes will be during intensive weeks on campus (or online), with the first one scheduled for Dec. 14-18. Learn more and apply here: https://swbts.edu/admissions/apply/
Bachelor's level: At Liberty University, you can do a Bachelor of Science in Bible – Disability Ministry online. I teach two of the online classes. They are set up as 8-week terms. Cohort level: The Gospel Coalition will be offering a cohort in Disability Ministry for eight weeks in October and November. I got to invite three of my ministry friends to join me for this, and I'm excited for you to see who they are. I'll share the link to learn more and register when it's available.
Conference intensive level: At this year's ETCH Conference, I'll be leading a two-hour intensive on Monday, Oct. 5th, from 1:30-3:30. It's a great way to get an overview of disability ministry and meet other leaders. Learn more and register here: https://etchconference.lifeway.com
