DancEmPower is in the schools. This week Lawrence Ogina and Bonnie Spafford taught the fifth graders at Conder Elementary, and Lindan Shivar and Amy Brooks gave Round Top Elementary's fifth graders their first ballet class. Company dancers in the classroom, kids showing them their own moves afterward. This is the other half of what we do. Photos by Dr. Anne Richardson.

Photos:
- Conder: the two photos attached to Anne's email "Lawrence and Bonnie were Rock Stars today at Conder!!!" (Sept 30). These show only Lawrence and Bonnie, so they are safe to post.
- Round Top: the photos are inside the Word file attached to Anne's email "1st Ballet Class at Round Top Elementary School" (Sept 29). They show the students, so check with Anne that those kids are cleared for photos before posting any of them.

Most ballet studios are hidden behind closed doors.

This one was designed for you to look inside. 🩰👀

After dancing with some of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies, Joseph Phillips returned to Columbia with a vision: create a space where the community can stop, watch, and experience ballet up close.

Located in Five Points, the new School of Columbia Ballet is about more than teaching dance. It’s about making the art form more visible, more accessible, and bringing people together.

🗓️ Open Classes Begin: August 10
