Our goal is to connect with 100% of our Fordland families!

Parent-teacher conferences are a valuable opportunity to learn about your child’s progress, partner with their teacher, and discover ways to support your child’s learning and growth at home. When families and teachers work together, we can help our Eagles soar! 🦅📚

If you haven’t signed up yet, please check the sign-up genius link your child’s teacher shared last week to schedule your conference.

⭐🦅 OUR EAGLES ARE SOARING!📚💙
We are celebrating growth at Fordland Elementary! Students who improved their iReady Reading scores from the beginning of the year to our most recent growth check earned the opportunity to place a star on our Eagle Goal Tracker! ⭐ Every star represents hard work, progress, and a step toward reaching our goals. We are SO proud of our Eagles!

Our next iReady Reading growth check will be in November, which will be the next opportunity to add more stars to our goal tracker! We want to keep that momentum going and fill up the entire Eagle by the end of the year!!

Families, you can help your student grow at home, too! 🏡📖
💙 Here are a few simple ways to help your Eagle SOAR:
📚 Read together or take turns reading aloud.
⏰ Set aside time each day for independent reading.
🔤 Practice spelling words
⭐ Review sight words to help build reading fluency.
💬 Talk about what you read together and ask questions about the story.

Remember, every minute of reading and every bit of practice makes a difference!Let's keep working hard and growing every day!⭐🦅

Time flies when you're learning and having fun! 🤩😎 Last week, 1st grade explored the five senses with apple 🍎🍏 tasting, 3rd grade used placed value to add within 1000, and 2nd, 4th and 5th graders flexed their reading muscles 💪🏻 📚as they summarized, drew conclusions and made connections with science and social studies topics they're studying!
