🎤 Nine Lenape Students Shine at PMEA Chorus Fest
Nine talented students from Lenape Elementary represented their school with pride at the recent PMEA District 3 Chorus Fest, held at Redbank Valley High School.
Under the direction of Mr. Jason Krecota, these young singers joined students from 18 participating schools for a day of intensive rehearsal and performance. The students had the incredible opportunity to learn from and sing under the guidance of esteemed guest conductors, Mrs. Martha Heise and Dr. Danielle M. Cullen.
It was a rewarding experience for the students, allowing them to collaborate with peers and elevate their vocal skills in a large choral setting.

Another sixth grade spotlight! 💡

For the last five weeks, our students have transformed into expert hydroponic farmers- growing all sorts of plants right in the classroom. 🌱🧑‍🌾

They've learned crucial skills like planting seedlings, pruning, monitoring and treating water, harvesting, and cleaning produce. They have even enjoyed sharing various types of delicious lettuce with their families! 🥗

Next up, they are looking forward to harvesting cherry tomatoes, cutting celery, and mini cucumbers, along with growing beautiful zinnias to spread cheer during the cold, snowy months!

Keep up the incredible work, sixth grade! We are so proud of your dedication to learning and growing. 🌱

We are so incredibly proud of our sixth graders for completing a massive, collaborative project: creating original PBIS skits about our HAWK Habits! 🎉

This was a huge effort that saw our students dive into every stage of production. They honed essential skills like script writing, editing, acting, and focusing on voice projection to bring their themes to life.

To take the skits to the final phase, they forged an exciting partnership with the Armstrong High School TV Production students! This fantastic cross-grade collaboration involved the high schoolers directing and recording the performances, and they will soon be taking on the editing! What a powerful display of teamwork between our schools.

Students: Keep demonstrating those HAWK Habits! Stay tuned for the final videos—we can't wait to share the finished product!

Information for Armstrong County Food Assistance Programs

From Katie Wolfe, Program Coordinator at the Ford City Public Library: I wanted to let you know about a special reading day we are having at the library with Aslan The White Golden Therapy Dog. Aslan is a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs Inc., and he and his handler Lars Rosell have visited the library before for a very successful Story Night. The children just loved Aslan, and he was very calm and patient with them.

Therefore, we are hosting Alsan and Lars at the library again on Saturday, November 15th from 10 am - 12 pm in the Children's Area of the library, for any child in grades K-6 who would like to practice reading aloud to Aslan. I will have toys set up in the programming area in the back of the library for children who are waiting their turn to read with Aslan, so that each child can have one on one time with Aslan up front in the Children's Area, about 10 minutes or more, depending on how many children attend.

Pre-registration through our website is helpful for this event, as noted on the flyer.
