Woodworth Middle School Band

All the 6-8 grade Woodworth band students got the opportunity to travel to the high school to work with Mr. Adrian Sims, who wrote the music they’re playing. They worked so hard on the piece they’ll play as a Woodworth band, “A Builder’s Dream.” And with a little time left over at the end, got to ask Mr. Sims some questions about his music and being a composer.

Mr. Sims wrote almost all of the music that students will be performing at Band-O-Rama tomorrow (Saturday, April 11), including one piece he wrote especially for our Fond du Lac band! It will be the premiere performance!

Just a reminder…students should arrive at 12:30 in their new band shirt they got at school today, and black pants with their instrument and music.

Coming up this Saturday is the Fond du Lac School District's Band-o-Rama. A celebration of all things band in the FDLSD. We hope that you join us for an exciting day of music making from our beginners, to our FHS ensembles and everything in between, you won't want to miss this performance!

Congratulations to our many band students who participated in the Middle Level Music Festival this weekend. We had 30 band events this weekend! They all worked extremely hard, and were willing to take a risk and put themselves out there. We are so proud of them!

Our school's student club "Inside the Den" would love to put together a video with photos from this weekend. If you took some pictures of your child participating in the music festival and want them included in the video Inside the Den creates, please share them in the comments here. We'd love to get as many students in the video as possible!

So proud of the jazz students who participated in the FdL Jazz Clinic at the high school today. Not only do they show up to 7 am rehearsals they also perform on stage at 9 am on Saturdays to learn from some amazing musicians.

There’s a concert tonight at 7 pm at the FdL PAC featuring the band that worked with our students, New Nostalgia, as well as many of the high school bands that played today (we were the only middle school! Just another reason to be proud of the Woodworth kids!) Should be a great concert, if anyone is interested in checking it out.

With a bunch of current and former Woodworth kids involved too! (And their teacher!). Thanks to Mr. Barnes for hosting such a great event.

Congratulations to Caleb!

Congratulations to freshmen Caleb Vang who participated in the WSMA Middle Level State Honors band as a percussionist. Caleb earned his spot in the ensemble last year as a student in the Woodworth Middle School Band.

We are so proud of the middle school band students who helped open up the high school’s marching invitational on Saturday by playing the National Anthem with several of the leaders from the high school’s band. Maybe some future Marching Cardinals?

Hopefully some of our middle school students will be participating by performing the national anthem! (Parents, if you haven’t heard about this, check your email! 😃)

Come and join us this Saturday for our Marching Band Invitational. The showcase starts at 6:00pm with the National Anthem directly before.

🎶🥁🎺 What a fantastic Homecoming performance! 🎺🥁🎶

Our middle school band students did an incredible job representing Woodworth at Homecoming this year! They worked so hard and it showed in their performances: from marching in the parade of bands to joining forces with the high school band for pregame.

I am so proud of their energy, effort, and teamwork! It was awesome to see the students playing side-by-side with the high school musicians, giving everyone a glimpse of the exciting future of our band program.

Huge congratulations to all of our students for their dedication and great performance!
