Fondy Fire Robotics Team 2194 was the brainchild of the McEathron family. Looking to promote the interest that her children had in science and technology-related topic, Lori McEathron attended the 2006 FIRST Midwest Regional and were immediately caught up in the excitement that is embedded in these events. Lead mentor Mark Holschuh was presented with a 2026 Community Involvement Award from the Eastern Wisconsin Excellence in Education program on May 16th. The awards ceremony was held at the Kohler Performing Arts Center.
Mark has been with the team since its inception in 2007.
Congratulations Mark on a very well deserved recognition of your efforts.

We are taking a short break from meetings before getting back into preparation for offseason competition, including defending our winners title at R2OC in Rockford, Illinois on July 25th.

Brett Holschuh and Stephen Bachhuber, both members of the Fondy Fire drive team from 2007-2009, lift the robot onto the scale for re-inspection. Stephen is working as an engineer for NASA in Houston!
We received the Gracious Professionalism Award for our field at the Championship. This is what the judges had to say and the team receiving the award.

We were not picked during Alliance Selection and so the competition part of the Championship is over for us. Many thanks to all team members, family and supporters who made the long journey to Houston.
We had a great season, winning the Appleton District and finishing as Runners Up at the State competition. We have a very young team and look forward with confidence.

Abigail Fenrick received a First FTC Leadership Award at the Championship yesterday for her role in our FTC Team 22526 Fondy Fire Tech.
The FIRST Leadership Award recognizes the dedication and individual contributions of outstanding secondary school students participating on FIRST Tech Challenge or FIRST Robotics Competition teams. Students in 10th or 11th grade are eligible to be nominated by their team for the FIRST Leadership Award for excelling in areas such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and dedication to advancing the mission of FIRST within their communities.

On Friday, we had a 1-4 record, finishing the qualifying matches at 4-6 in 47th place out of 75.
Not the outcome we had hoped for but we played well and the robot performed in excellent fashion.
Alliance selection is at 7 am on Saturday with each captain having three picks to make 4 team alliances.
