Out here at FDL County Fairgrounds Pond, cleaning up some weeds and topwater algae for the County. This is being done to improve the ability to fish from the bridge, as children often flock to the water discharge area to fish . They fish in front of the discharge area due to its lack of weeds from the regular flow of water. There is little warning before thousands of gallons of rain water pump out, several times a day, and the risk of a child being harmed or killed is unfortunately very high. Hopefully once this pond is cleared up a bit we can minimize this risk. Please remind your children to stay safe around the city's numerous water retention ponds. Thank you, have a wonderful day.
