Mrs. Zupke’s 4th Grade

I spent about 4 hours at school this afternoon (I hope your Sunday was a bit more exciting than mine 😉) getting each scholar ready for something new we are starting tomorrow.

At Chegwin, we are working on individual scholar goals. Tomorrow we start working on a goal and watching them crush them.

All 22 students have a goal on the target on their desk and a bag filled with resources to help them reach that goal. When a scholar hits their goal, they will write their name on our chart and once it’s filled, I’ll draw a couple of names for prizes!

It’s been some time - sorry! Even though my posts have been absent, the hard work hasn’t!!! Today your scholars spent some time reading with our Kindergarten buddies.

I am so proud of how awesome they all did working with our young Chegwin scholars. Working with kinders helps our scholars work on leadership skills, but also patience and understanding. I look forward to watching them work with their buddies all year and seeing them all move mountains together.

Happy Saturday!

We had a great day yesterday building our classroom family back up. Our week was a tough one, but taking the time to have a family breakfast and a group chat was a great way to start our day. After we got back from encore each of them picked a random classmate to make a friendship bracelet for. We listened to music, sang, had some dance breaks, and crafted from the heart. Watching the kids take so much pride in what they were making was awesome. But watching them beam with pride and excitement rocking their new bracelet was even better.

We had a better day today than yesterday. Shwew! Every day we are learning new things about each other and how to best work together. In time we will be like a well oiled machine. 😉

This afternoon we spent some time taking the iReady testing for Math. The iReady Math and Reading tests will help me and the other staff better help students grow this school year. Tomorrow we continue with Math and will hopefully wrap that one up. Our plan is to test for Reading next Tuesday and Wednesday.

I’d love your help by reminding your scholar that school is a time for us to grow and learn. We do best at this when we are engaged and listening to learning.

Your kids are amazing! I truly appreciate them and love having them in my class.
