Playing each of these rudiments on the kit is one thing, but stringing all four of them together and then making the transitions from one to the next seamless… that gave me a tougher time than I would like to admit, LOL. A little triplet-based rudiment stew for your daily practice. This one combines three different rudiments, both right hand and left hand lead. Add this to your daily practice pad routine if you want to boost your command of triplet texture and sticking patterns. Enjoy 🍵🙏🍵🙏

I know, this drum lesson is WAY too long for Instagram, but it’s an epic triplet warm-up that involves linear, non-linear, and rudimental elements all in one. If you make it to the halfway point, high five yourself for having a greater than average attention span. Don’t worry, the next video you scroll to about microplastics will still be there when the lesson is finished, lol 😂

It’s CRAZY how much the way you tune and dampen your kit can affect not just a groove, but an entire song. For Session 27, I went with the blue sparkle Broadkaster, tunes super low, with tea towels on the toms. But… I also tried my 70’s bob kit, cranked and WIDE OPEN. Which one do you like more, and why? 🍵💙🍵💙
