Letâs go way back to Stephen Covey đ:Â âBegin with the end in mind.â
But for reals. This applies so beautifully to the way I teach yoga.
Start with your final goal:
⨠A peak pose?
đĽ A grand finale flow?
đ¨ A moment of challenging, fiery breath?
ThenâŚwork your way into it.
Introduce shapes or transitions in a scaled-down version way back at the beginning of class. Think about which muscles need to be lengthened, strengthened, or activated. Then keep incorporating those movements as the class builds.
By the time your students reach that final moment, their brains and bodies are already preparedâand they probably didnât even realize it was happening.
Thatâs intentional sequencing. And your students can feel the difference. đ
