Benwood-McMechen After School up and running! We have a
great group of students. They have done a 9/11 project and are working on homework and crafts items daily. Our dinner table discussion is very popular as they get to talk about their day or another subject that they like.

School is about to resume and we are working on getting our site ready for the After School Adventures Program in the Benwood-McMechen Housing Authority ready for the students. We have made some changes this year but the one thing we do need is volunteers. Our program can't operate without them. Ideally these wonderful people are 55 and older but we will welcome you if you are 55 or younger. High school students can fulfill their community service hours by helping assist our students.
All areas of experience are welcome. If you have a talent that you would like to share with us, we would encourage you to come and talk to our students about it.
Helping with homework, serving a meal, or just listening are ways that you can help our students. The After School Adventures Program is a safe place for our students to spend time after school while waiting for parents to come home from work. We are open Mon-Fri from 3:00pm til 5:30pm.
If you are interested or want to know more about the program, call the office at 304-905-0673. I am in the office on Mon. from 10-2, Tues. and Thurs. from 10-6.

our new look at ASAP. Miss MaryAnn and Pauline are getting ready for the new year. We have been moving things and making changes to the space. We are looking for volunteers to help with the program. If you can give 1 hour a month to our kids it would be greatly appreciated.

The RSVP After School Adventures Program
is in need of volunteers to work with the students of Marshall County.
Monday – Friday 3pm to 6 pm
All skills, interests, and education levels are welcome.

ASAP offers a FREE and SAFE environment for youth, ages 5-17.
Volunteers serve healthy meals, help with homework, participate in community service events, and implement a variety of enrichment activities that focus on science, math, fitness, health, art, and literacy.

We are getting ready for August by sprucing up our activity room. Miss MaryAnn and Miss Pauline made new window coverings and put new table cloths on the tables. Looks very cheerful!
