KID MODE: ON

Camp is a place to practice being a kid.

No algorithm. No perfect feed.

Just real people, real games, real conversations, real wins, real do-overs, and a whole lot of summer.

A place where kids can play just because it’s fun, create without worrying about getting it perfect, explore, laugh a little louder, try again, and make lasting friendships along the way.

At Kidcam, kids have the space to be curious, confident, silly, adventurous, and completely themselves.

Because unforgettable summers aren’t about getting the perfect picture—they’re about living the moments worth remembering.

The ultimate summer camp experience.

We’re looking for a Camp Director for Kidcam at River’s Retreat in Covington — and this camp has a ton of personality.
It’s a beautiful, outdoorsy property with plenty of room for creative programming, a swimming pool on site, and lots of opportunities to make camp feel like a real summer adventure.
We’re looking for someone with big ideas, patience, strong leadership skills, and a genuine love for programming. Someone who can walk onto the property and immediately start thinking about games, activities, traditions, and ways to make the camper experience even better.
Basically, we need someone with a little modern-day Steve Irwin energy — adventurous, enthusiastic, great with people, and excited to bring the outdoors to life for kids.

For the fifth year, we extend our most gracious thanks to the Poarch Band of Creek Indians for joining us to share their Mvskoke culture with us, including a couple plays of stickball and traditional powwow dances. Many students joined the tribe in a final "Friendship Dance" to practice some of the traditional dances. Thank you, and we are already looking forward to the next time!

📣 Big news from Kidcam at OWA!
Today will be Mrs. KJ’s final day at camp as she follows her doctor’s orders to rest and prepare for the arrival of her baby in just a few short weeks. 💛

We are so grateful for the energy, care and memories she has shared with our campers this summer. Please join us in wishing KJ and her growing family all the best as they begin this exciting new chapter!

We’re also excited to welcome back a familiar face! 🎉
Mr. Hunter Riggan will return as Camp Director for the remainder of the summer. Hunter has spent three summers with Kidcam at OWA and previously served as Camp Director at Kidcam Oak Mountain State Park.

Now entering his fifth year with Kidcam, Hunter currently teaches elementary Spanish in Chicago Public Schools and is ready to bring back some of his favorite activities, traditions and Kidcam fun!

A few fun facts about Mr. Hunter:
🇪🇸 He speaks Spanish
🎶 He loves concerts and live music
🥾 He enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors
🤘 He absolutely ROCKS the Kidcam schedule!

There are still spaces available for the final two weeks of camp, so register today and help us give Mr. Hunter a big Rocky High Five when you see him!

Thank you & wishing you all the best, Mrs. KJ, and welcome back, Mr. Hunter! 💗
