Hello sweet friends,
At the new district I will be in, I am not allowed to share anything on socials, unless through the district or school page. Because of this, I will be taking this page down. I invite you to all take any pictures from posts of your babies and save them, before July 18th, when our school year over here begins.
Thanks for following along during this journey. I am grateful for you all!

Soaked up the last bit of the school year today…
This one hurt too… I am going to miss these babies!!! I didn’t even get a lot of pictures, I just soaked it all in.
One student, in specific, who was “never supposed to really talk to me” said as he left:
“Mrs. Miller, I love you. Have a great Summer. I’ll miss you.”
By any teacher’s standards, a paragraph is 3-5 sentences. That baby, who answered who, what, where, and why questions this year, who grew leaps and bounds, broke my heart into a million pieces when he spoke an entire paragraph.
I’m counting my blessings, while this year was a tough one, I learned a lot and I’m so incredibly grateful for each blessing shared with me this school year. While challenging, yes, I will carry them each in my heart for always.
Until my next adventure, thank you all for being here 🫶🏼

We took FULL advantage of this absolutely BEAUTIFUL day for some recess time after testing was complete in the building. The kids had a blast!

I don’t think I can adequately put into words how proud of these students that I am. Look at these amazing fictional stories. One of them is TEN pages in length. I had kids coming to me asking if they could write additional stories and if I would read them if they did. Absolutely.
I never thought that sitting criss-cross, applesauce on the floor with my kids, making up pretend stories around a campfire, would be this effective. I’m astonished and completely sold on this fantastic prewriting strategy I learned at Camp Explore for Educators

We had another campfire chat today. The writing that these kids are producing has astounded me. I can’t wait to show you more as they complete them tomorrow. Very proud of these kiddos!
If you’re wondering about the post it notes. I tell my students that if they can speak a sentence, they can write it. This is an extra support I offer to those that need it. Look how incredible these two girls did coming up with their fictional story about someone who woke up realizing they had superpowers on their birthday.
