Congratulations to Alex Tranquilino on his runner up finish at the Metro League tournament yesterday at the 4 singles flight. Quite the accomplishment for the first year player and freshmen. Alex beat the 4 seeded Fenton player in three sets in his first match to set up a showdown with the top seeded, and undefeated on the season Clio player. After another long 3 set match, Alex handed the Clio player his first loss of the season to set up a match with the second seeded Lake Fenton player. Alex played his heart out and both players gutted out some long points on a hot afternoon. Although it did not go Alex’s way, the future is bright!

Congratulations also goes to the 1 doubles team of Sam Milliman and Luke Burdis, who avenged a loss earlier in the year to Clio, besting the 3 seeded team at the tournament in straight sets.

Hey we know that girl! Keep up the hard work Keira!

Long before the acceptance letter, this teenager spent countless hours exploring books at the library, trips to museums, music, tennis and more.

Boys tennis season is well underway, with the team competing in their first matches of the season.

Tuesday the boys opened conference play at home with a loss to Clio 2-6. Colten Fisher (2S) and Tyler Schwartz (3S) took home the wins for Flushing. Among our 12 player team were 7 players (6 freshmen and 1 senior) who were playing in their first match of their careers.

Thursday the team travelled to Kearsley, where they won 5-3. Taking home wins for the team were Griffin Jones (1S), Colten Fisher (2S), Tyler Schwartz (3S), Sam Milliman/Luke Burdis (1D), and Hudson Pattee/Matthew Wirsing (2D).

Today the team traveled to Delta College to play in the Warrior Quad, hosted by Bay City Western. The team tied for third with Lapeer, and had three flight runner ups - Griffin Jones (1S), Colten Fisher (2S), and Sam Milliman/Luke Burdis (1D).

As the week has gone on, everyone on the team has improved leaps and bounds. Although we may be a little inexperienced at the moment, the future is bright. Through hard work and grit, the team has gotten exponentially better since the start of the season, and will continue to do so as we strive to be the best team we can be.

Go Raiders!!

Boys tryouts will be pushed back to a 10am start today (8/10) due to the wet courts. We will plan to run 10-12. Sorry for any inconveniences!

We had such an awesome group this summer that we had to end with a cookout, play some water balloon smash and tennis baseball along with a little competition!

Bryan and Matthew won our doubles tournament today.
Luke and Maggie were the jail champions.

Special thanks to the coaches that helped me this summer - Josh, Ryan, Keira, Payton, Ally, Allie, Ellie, and Grace.

It was great to see so many people join us this afternoon and the weather was perfect - we had brothers, sisters, friends, moms, dads, grandparents, and even some of those high schoolers out to play today! 😉

Enjoy your last few weeks of summer, can’t wait to do it again next year!

I can’t believe it’s the end of July already. I had a blast with all of our campers this summer and hope to see everyone at our end of season celebration!

Wear your new, orange Raiders Tennis t-shirt so we can get a nice group picture!
