Are you looking for an innovative MQR (Math & Quantitative Reasoning) Pathways GenEd course?
Consider Physics 8, The Science and Applications of Fractals! It's a great course for ALL students interested in exploring new topics in math and science. The course is being taught with active learning modules to make it fun and interactive. The course will engage students through 'design thinking' to make stuff in the QC Makerspace.
You don't need any background in math or physics, just a curious mind and willingness to participate and explore the world of Fractals. Don't know what those are? Fractals are objects with ever larger or smaller number of pieces, like mountains, rivers, trees, lungs, art, stock market fluctuations and so much more.

To “future-proof” your campus, every instructor must be prepared to teach effectively online. Even as faculty took heroic steps to teaching online, we can - and should - be better prepared for the future. This fall, colleges and universities can ensure instructors are equipped with evidence-base...

Back up your Google Account files by September 15!
QC is officially shifting it’s cloud data storage accounts from Google to Microsoft 365 and Dropbox. This means that by mid-September, students, faculty and staff need to take down ALL their files from Google and store it elsewhere. For more information please check here:
http://ctl.qc.cuny.edu/transitioning-from-g-suite/
What this means for you:
- Take some time to check the files that you have on your QC Google Account. You may want to delete any files that you don’t need at this time.
- Put all your files into recognizable folders and download them
- Check our Google extensions for some options to directly transfer files from Google to Dropbox
- Once you’ve downloaded your files from Google or transferred them to another cloud database, you are done!
Share this with others in the QC community!

Vaccinations have been a requirement for attending college for a long while. Universities want to their students to be healthy and able to focus on learning, not on illness, if possible. Adding the COVID 19 vaccination to the list of required vaccinations to enroll only adds to the safety, health and security of everyone on campus. Very glad the courts see that too.
Stay safe and healthy as you prepare for the fall semester!

Juneteenth is celebrated each year on June 19 to commemorate the day that news of the Emancipation Proclamation was brought to the last slaves in Galveston, TX in 1965. This year is especially poignant because the United States has officially been designated as a federal holiday.
Though the Emancipation Proclamation was signed January 1, 1863, news did not spread fast, and it took over two and a half years to reach all enslaved peoples. This day is an important day historically and presently as everyone in our country should be recognized equally and equitably. Devastatingly, this is not always true, so holidays like this that celebrate freedom, especially the freedom of previously enslaved Black Americans, is vital to recognizing the worth of all. Black Lives Matter. Celebrating Juneteenth is a small way to acknowledge that simple and important fact. Celebrating Juneteenth is celebrating the literal breaking of chains. We must all work to make sure other chains don't try to take their place for a free future.
Happy Juneteenth.
