Pastor Mike Herbert, President of the Board, shared a timely and encouraging devotional at today's breakfast with the Board of Trustees.
Psalm 1 paints a gentle picture of two paths — one rooted in God and one drifting without Him. It reminds us that those who delight in the Lord become like a tree planted by streams of water, steady, nourished, and full of fruit. Those who walk apart from Him find themselves unstable, like chaff carried by the wind. The psalm closes with comfort, assuring us that God lovingly watches over the path of the righteous.
In John 15 we are reminded that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We must stay deeply connected to Him for we cannot do anything without Him. We are responsible for faithfulness to Him and He is responsible for fruitfulness.
As we step into the new school year, we keep our focus on Jesus who leads us, teaches us, and brings growth each day. As teachers, we want to be deeply connected to Christ so that everything we pour into our students flows from a life grounded in Him.
We ended our time together by celebrating our amazing Head of School, Ms. Chantal Nelson, whose birthday is today.
