EBLI is a system of research-based literacy skills, concepts, and strategies that teaches learners of any age or ability level to read, spell, and write to their highest potential. EBLI 1 on 1 instruction for students of all ages is provided at Ounce of Prevention Reading Center in Flushing, MI.

Stephane Bolton had more than 20 years of experience teaching first grade. She had extensive literacy training, yet a few students still struggled year after year.

In her first year using EBLI, her class moved from 37% at grade level on iReady in August to 100% by May. Average DIBELS fluency rose from 46.9 to 108.2 words per minute, and every student was independently reading chapter books by year’s end.

Her story is not about a quick trick. It is about changing instruction so literacy skills work together and students can apply them.
