Thank you to our maintenance department for their hard work on the the tennis courts. Not only are the restorations great for our tennis teams, but FES kids are also thoroughly enjoying them during recess!

Our preschool through first grade students had a very special visit from our local fire department yesterday!

Our students had the opportunity to learn some very important fire safety tips, including what to do in case of a fire, how to stay safe, and why firefighters are such important members of our community.

A HUGE thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit our Little Buffs, answer their questions, and help teach them how to stay safe! We are so grateful for the men and women who serve and protect our community.

When we decided upon our yearly theme, , Mrs Vest had a great idea for our annual staff t-shirt!

When he was in elementary school, FES alumnus and current FCHS student Noah Underwood painted a lovely mountain scene in Art class. Today Noah’s siblings were able to present him with a shirt featuring his painting — the same shirt that all our staff will receive. We are proud to wear his artwork.

Thank you, Noah — once a Little Buff, always a Little Buff!

FALL PICTURE DAY IS COMING! 📸🍂

Mark your calendars! Wednesday, September 30th is Fall Picture Day at Floyd Elementary!

No need to order ahead! Families will receive a proof of their child’s photo to view, and then you’ll have the opportunity to purchase pictures if you choose.

We can’t wait to capture those sweet smiles and make some memories!

It was a great day at FES! Mrs. Bible’s first graders began their day with a morning meeting; Mrs. Marshall hosted a Pop-up Professional Development for teachers during lunch; and Mrs. Underwood’s sixth grade English classes practiced their presentation skills. These are just a few of the many wonderful things you may see any given day at Floyd E.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

At Floyd Elementary, we are incredibly blessed with an amazing team of staff members who show up every day ready to love, support, encourage, and make a difference in the lives of our students. 💛🖤

Now, we want to hear from YOU! 👏

Do you know a staff member who deserves a little extra recognition? Maybe it’s a teacher who goes above and beyond, an instructional assistant who always lends a helping hand, a cafeteria worker who greets students with a smile, or a custodian who works hard behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly.

Every role matters. Every person makes a difference.

We invite parents and families to take a few minutes to complete our Staff Recognition Form and nominate a Floyd Elementary staff member who has made a positive impact on your child or your family.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the incredible people who make Floyd Elementary such a special place to learn and grow!
