1 DAY TO GO! The wait is almost over! Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, is officially the first day of the 2026–2027 school year!

Our teachers, staff, and drivers are ready and eager to welcome our students back to school tomorrow morning.

We're so excited to welcome all of our new and returning students at Open House this evening! Come meet your teachers, see your classrooms, reconnect with friends, and get ready for an amazing school year!

9 DAYS TO GO! The hallways are quiet right now, but they won't be for long!

Open House is officially one week away on Monday, August 10, 2026!

This is the perfect chance for students and families to tour your school campus, find your classrooms, practice your schedule, and meet your incredible teachers, staff, and principals.

We are putting the finishing touches on our classrooms and can't wait to see everyone back in our buildings!

Hey, that’s our beautiful hallway!

We deeply appreciate John Paul, Timothy, Mike, and Donnie for their hours of hard work this summer. The school is looking fantastic thanks to these gentlemen!

4 DAYS TO GO! Today, we want to recognize and thank our maintenance and custodial teams.

Throughout the summer, these folks have worked hard behind the scenes to deep clean classrooms, polish floors, and ensure our school buildings are clean, safe, and ready for the new year.

We truly appreciate their efforts in preparing our spaces for our returning students and staff. Please join us in thanking our custodial and facilities crews for all their hard work this summer!

We are beyond excited to be a part of Floyd County Public Schools’ new partnership with Tri-Area Community Health — quite literally in our own backyard!

8 DAYS TO GO! We have some major news to share about how we are taking care of our school family this year!

We are excited to announce the opening of our brand-new School-Based Health Center located in the annex of Floyd Elementary School!

Through a wonderful partnership with Tri-Area Community Health, the health center will provide accessible, high-quality care to both our students and staff.

Not at Floyd Elementary or Floyd County High School? We've got you covered! Telehealth services will also be available for our outlying schools, ensuring care is within reach no matter which building you are in.

We’ve made shopping a little easier by posting this year’s school supply lists. Check your child’s grade level, start checking off those supplies, and get ready for an amazing school year!
