Our 6th Grade Advanced Math students put our SWIM model into action as they reviewed for their first math quiz on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers!

Students worked collaboratively, raced around the room checking one another’s answers, and tackled a fun escape room challenge! It was awesome to see them communicate, problem-solve, support one another, and put their math skills to work.

Learning, teamwork, and a little friendly competition made for a great review day!

🎡🧠🀝 Our 4th Grade SEARCH students turned a viral jumping trend into an incredible teamwork, engineering, and problem-solving challenge! 🀝🧠🎡

Using creativity and collaboration, students designed their own "Billie Jean" floor grids completely from scratch. They put their spatial math skills to work, carefully measuring and taping safe jumping zones, then used logical sequencing to choreograph precise movements to keep teammates moving in sync and collision-free.

The real challenge came when things didn't go as planned! Students had to think critically, adapt, and "debug" their routines, working through trial and error to find solutions. Along the way, they listened to one another, compromised, communicated effectively, and persevered through setbacks.

What started as a fun trend quickly became a powerful lesson in teamwork, engineering, planning, and problem-solving. The end result was impressive, but the collaboration, resilience, and determination displayed throughout the process were even more remarkable!

Way to Work with Purpose, SEARCH students! We can't wait to see what challenge you tackle next. 🌊🐟✨

🐻🧦 Think, Pair, Share in Kindergarten! 🧦🐻

Today we read Little Koko Bear and His Socks and practiced identifying the setting of a story! πŸ“šβœ¨

Our little learners first THOUGHT about the setting and drew their ideas. ✏️🎨 Then they PAIRED up with a partner and SHARED their drawings and thinking with each other! πŸ’πŸ‘«

We loved seeing our kindergarteners practice listening, speaking, and sharing their ideas while learning about story elements! πŸ’•πŸ“–

πŸ†πŸŸ Congratulations to Miss Hoover’s class, our first Marlin of the Month winners for August! πŸŸπŸ†

This outstanding class earned the Marlin Award for Making Safe Choices by setting a great example during our very first fire drill of the school year. Students followed directions, stayed focused, and remained silent the entire time, demonstrating what it means to put safety first.

And here’s the impressive part... they did it all while working with a substitute teacher! 🌟 Their responsibility, self-control, and teamwork made them true role models for our school community.

Way to go, Miss Hoover’s class! Enjoy your well-deserved Marlin of the Month recognition! πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

Now the question is... πŸ‘€

Who will be our August winners for Show Respect, Improve Daily, and Work with Purpose? We can’t wait to find out!

Mrs. Fords 2nd-5th grade computer classes put their best team building skills to the test with two challenges: Save Fred the Worm and Help Jimothy the raccoon!

Students had to use their best communication, problem-solving skills, teamwork and patience. Watching them work together, share ideas, encourage each other, and figure things out as a team was super fun to watch!

πŸ“šβ„οΈ Mrs. Troutman’s class has worked super hard and worked up a β€œsweat” today while taking the MAP assessment and mastering SWIM expectations! β„οΈπŸ“š

To celebrate all of their hard work, focus, and determination, students enjoyed a cool breeze and a tasty popsicle treat! 🍦🌬️ We are so proud of the effort these Marlins put forth and the positive attitudes they showed throughout the day.

Keep up the great work, Mrs. Troutman’s class! We know you’ll make a splash on the Math MAP tomorrow, too! πŸŸπŸ’™πŸŒŠ
