We are so excited to officially welcome Ms. Elena to our school family!

She has joined us as our amazing Young Preschool teacher, and it’s safe to say our two-year-olds are already completely head over heels for her! Her energy, warmth, and creativity bring so much joy to the classroom every single day.

🌋 STEM Station Spotlight: Fizzy Volcano Eruptions!
Today at in STEM Station, our little scientists explored a classic, hands-on chemical reaction with a colorful twist!
Using trays prepped with baking soda and drops of food coloring, the children used eyedroppers to squeeze vinegar over the top. As soon as the vinegar hit the baking soda, BOOM!—a bubbly, fizzing "volcano" eruption!
🔬 What We Learned (The Preschool Science)
Chemical Reaction: When an acid (vinegar) meets a base (baking soda), they react to create carbon dioxide gas. That gas forms all those fun, fizzy bubbles!
Color Mixing: As the fizzy bubbles expand, hidden drops of food coloring combine to create brand-new colors right before their eyes.

Edit: Power is back on! We are opening at 7:00 to give teachers time to be at the school.

We currently have no electricity at the school. As of now, we are expecting a delayed opening this morning and are planning to open by 8:30 AM. I will keep you informed as we receive updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

🚗💨 MUDDY ROADS AHEAD! 💨🚗
Our little drivers had the absolute best time today going off-roading in some "fake mud" (shhh, don't tell them it's just shaving cream with brown paint!! 🤫 mixed with a little bit of magic).
After splashing, squishing, and driving their cars through the messy terrain, it was time for the ultimate cleanup: a backyard car wash! 🧼🧽 Watching them scrub those wheels with soapy sponges and rinse them clean was pure joy.
Why we ❤️ messy, sensory play:
While it looks like just a big ol' mess, this kind of sensory play is actually hard at work building young brains! Here is why it's so important for our preschoolers:
Brain Connections: Sensory play stimulates the senses (touching the gooey mud, smelling the cocoa, seeing the bubbles), which builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways.
Fine Motor Skills: Squeezing sponges, scrubbing cars, and pouring water strengthens those tiny hand muscles needed for writing later on.
Language Boost: It naturally gets kids talking! Today we practiced great descriptive words like squishy, slimy, bumpy, and squeaky clean.
Cognitive Concepts: They are secretly learning early math and science through cause-and-effect (water washes away mud!) and volume (filling and dumping cups).

Happy Mother’s Day from Flower Mound Early Care and Education! 🌸
Our hearts (and bellies) are so full after such a sweet morning! We loved seeing all of our amazing moms, grandmas, and special grownups at our Muffins with Moms event today. 🧁✨
