Shadow Ridge Middle School Band

📣 The Shadow Ridge Honor Winds has advanced to the TMEA 2C Honor Band State Semi-Finals!

At this week's Area C Honor Band Contest, SRMS Honor Winds competed against bands from across the area and earned first place from the panel of judges for their performances of:

🎶 Pas Redoublé — Saint-Saëns/Frackenpohl
🎶 Sonic Pathways — Hervey
🎶 Tears of Princess Joruri — Taruya

These recordings now advance to the state semi-finals in mid-July, where they will compete against many of the finest middle school bands from across Texas.

We are also very proud to move forward alongside the Flower Mound Wind Symphony, who received first place in the 6A high school division of the Honor Band contest! 👏 👏

We are incredibly proud of these students and the outstanding musicianship, dedication, and hard work they have demonstrated throughout the year. What an incredible journey! 💙

🎶 COMPOSER VISIT! 🎶

What an incredible day in the Shadow Ridge Band Room! We had the honor of welcoming Mr. Nathan Hervey, composer of our Honor Winds UIL piece Sonic Pathways!

Our students absolutely LOVED working with him — he shared his musical influences, gave insight into the inspiration behind the piece, and helped bring their performance to life in a whole new way.

Experiences like this are so meaningful for our musicians, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy he poured into our program today!
