Congratulations to our kids for making it to the final round of the Honor Band contest and earning **7th place** out of hundreds of middle schools in the state of Texas! Mr. Patterson and Ms. Schuster are incredibly proud of these awesome students and all their hard work this past school year!

Also - congrats to the Flower Mound Wind Symphony for earning 2nd place in the 6A division!

🎉 STATE FINALS! 🎉

The Shadow Ridge Honor Winds has advanced to the TMEA 2C Honor Band State Finals!

After advancing through the Area C Honor Band Contest to the State Semi-Finals, the Shadow Ridge Honor Winds is now one of the **Top 10** middle school bands in Texas competing in the TMEA 2C Honor Band contest.

The State Finals is TOMORROW! A crowd of band directors from across the state of Texas will cram into a little room in San Antonio and be listening to the recordings of our 70 incredible young musicians. This honor comes from the same recordings of our 2025–2026 UIL program:

🎶 Sonic Pathways — Hervey
🎶 Tears of Princess Joruri — Taruya

What an incredible journey. What an unforgettable year. We're excited to represent our school and Lewisville ISD at this contest...ALONGSIDE the Flower Mound High School Wind Symphony in the 6A high school division!!

📣 The Shadow Ridge Honor Winds has advanced to the TMEA 2C Honor Band State Semi-Finals!

At this week's Area C Honor Band Contest, SRMS Honor Winds competed against bands from across the area and earned first place from the panel of judges for their performances of:

🎶 Pas Redoublé — Saint-Saëns/Frackenpohl
🎶 Sonic Pathways — Hervey
🎶 Tears of Princess Joruri — Taruya

These recordings now advance to the state semi-finals in mid-July, where they will compete against many of the finest middle school bands from across Texas.

We are also very proud to move forward alongside the Flower Mound Wind Symphony, who received first place in the 6A high school division of the Honor Band contest! 👏 👏

We are incredibly proud of these students and the outstanding musicianship, dedication, and hard work they have demonstrated throughout the year. What an incredible journey! 💙

🎶 COMPOSER VISIT! 🎶

What an incredible day in the Shadow Ridge Band Room! We had the honor of welcoming Mr. Nathan Hervey, composer of our Honor Winds UIL piece Sonic Pathways!

Our students absolutely LOVED working with him — he shared his musical influences, gave insight into the inspiration behind the piece, and helped bring their performance to life in a whole new way.

Experiences like this are so meaningful for our musicians, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy he poured into our program today!
