The winner is in! “We are Definitely Human” by X. Fang is the winner of the 2x2 book tournament hosted by our librarian, Mrs. Rutan. All K-2 classes got to celebrate with an alien themed party. What a great way to inspire young readers. Thank you, Mrs. Rutan!

This group of 5th graders missed out on their Kindergarten Fairy Tale Ball experience due to COVID, so we decided to have one before they left for Lamar! Our wonderful GT teacher and Librarian, Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Rutan, didn't even give it a second thought and took it all on! They created activities made for 5th grade, and the kids were able to make amazing memories! They did a fantastic job with everything! They did Fairy Tale trivia, wrote their own fairy tales, they made Cinderella's coach in a stem challenge, bobbed for donuts, did tai chi, and created Heraldic Shields. We appreciate Ms. Lawson, Mr. Floyd, Mr. & Mrs. Bearden, and Mrs. McElroy for helping them run the stations as well! Here is a folder with pictures from the magical day!

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Hanna and Mrs. Javier on their retirement. Mrs. Hanna has been in education for 24 years and Mrs. Javier for 27 years. We would like to sincerely thank them for all their hard work, passion and dedication. Every student that walked through their door was met with love, patience and kindness. You will both be deeply missed, but we wish you the best on your next chapters.
