OMGOSH, I am cleaning out the (way cool) art room, and look what I found, circa 2004, maybe? An article about the mural I painted (now covered by the dolphin wall sticker), and check out how the art room looked so many years ago. Does anyone recognize themselves?

How it started, and how it's going 😊

What a great opening night! So many families came to see fabulous art! I am so proud of our Donald Dolphins and all their hard work. The Lewisville ISD Elementary Art Shows allow students to demonstrate their skills and creative expression. This is our recital, or final performance. It takes a great deal of work and organization, and I am so grateful to everyone involved. It is a joyful experience, and my heart is full! The show is up until April 28, everyone is welcome.

I'm not on social media much anymore, so I haven't posted in a while, but I wanted to share the fabulous opportunities some of our students experienced recently.

On Dec. 1, our 4th graders and on Feb. 16, our 5th graders came to the Dallas Museum of Art for museum day and lunch in Klyde Warren Park. Each grade level had a specialized, 1-hour tour, a picnic lunch and playground time, and time to wander the museum independently. Both groups had a great day! The kids loved it, and our chaperones rocked it!

My goal for these museum trips is simple--I want the kids and their families to go back! Spring and summer are fabulous times to take your family to an art museum. Dallas and Fort Worth are home to world-renowned art museums, but the DMA and Amon Carter in Fort Worth are my favorite because they are free and family-friendly. I encourage you to explore these treasures and let your children show you what they have learned! All ages are welcome. Here are some great pictures from both the 4th and 5th-grade field trips!

For the first time, I bought Playdough for my littles to use during free choice center time. Today, I lost my voice and let 5th-graders use it after they completed their art project. I thought they might be too old for Playdough, maybe too silly, but no. They are happy and busy, building food items and challenging each other. It's so sweet and wholesome.

Can you believe this MAGIC? The October Kindness cart is making its way around Donald. It is FABULOUS! So grateful to our Donald PTA and all our families who donated goodies to help make this so great!! The Kindness Ambassadors are big-time jealous of us teachers...I hope they get some payment for their hard work...😋

A huge shout out to Brittany Hoover for the amazing cake pops! And to Katrina Stewart and Holly Dietrick for being open to collaboration and for organizing, promoting, and storing all the goodies. I could not do this without you!

And we all got BOOed as well! Super fun day!

Career Day in Kindergarten and 3 littles want to be art teachers when they grow up!! They made my heart so happy!! What a way to start the day ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎨🖌
