One of the things that makes Montessori education so special is the mixed-age classroom.
At MCDS, while each child receives an individualized education and works according to their own learning plan, they are also part of a classroom community with children at different stages of development.
In a Primary classroom, ages 3–6 learn alongside one another. Younger children have older peers to look up to, while older children have opportunities to exercise developing leadership skills. Yes, even at 5 and 6 years old MCDS students are leaders!
Individualized learning, within a community of learners. That’s the beauty of the Montessori classroom.
