🎵 Nanatsu had started off beautifully—her rubato (that lovely expressive stretching of tempo) was heartfelt and emotional. But as she played on, the tempo sped up unintentionally. Ms. Victoria gently stopped her and showed her the power of playing with control, so that her expressive choices could shine on purpose, not by accident.
✨ It’s a small moment—but it’s also the kind of moment that turns a music student into a musician.
Because great music isn’t just about notes—it’s about telling a story, with intention and emotion.
🎶 When students understand how to feel the beat and then shape it with rubato, they’re no longer just playing—they’re communicating.
🎯 Here’s why this matters: ✅ Teaches discipline through feel, not force
✅ Helps students control tempo and avoid rushing
✅ Builds expressive, confident playing
✅ Makes performances sound polished and professional
