We are grateful for every share! You never know who needs this information. We received a call from a Single Mother. Our Tutoring Agency was referred to her by her child’s Social Worker. They’d heard of the services that we provide. We provide A Therapeutic Learning Space for your Student(s). Safe Haven Academic Learning Center was put on a list for Resources available in the Community!

We run our Program with Excellency and Professionalism. This young lady drives from Phoenix, Illinois! I have parents that have driven from Calumet City, to get their kids services. What A Mighty God we serve! I’m blessed that parents will drive to get their students the results they know they’ll need. Our Agency is different, unique and we will work with your student, until we see progress! We have a 6 Week Academic Intervention Program in Flossmoor, Illinois. Please share!

Students are required to attend twice a week for six weeks. Each student receives a complementary comprehensive literary report after we’ve done our observation and provided academic intervention services.. This report helps the teacher to know where the student is struggling even as we identify and compare their most recent years, spring state test and previous years quarterly diagnostic test.

Tough Truth: One educator cannot run six groups in a room of 30 and call that equity.

We have to address the structure.

If Tier 1 is designed around whole-group instruction and intervention is expected to “fix” everything else, resources are designed to be stretched too thin.

So what can we do?

The answer is found in skill-based groups.

👉 We can redesign the schedule so that more trained adults teach during Tier 1.

👉 We can deliver strong Tier 1 instruction to students on IEPs at their skill level instead of whole-group lessons that they don’t have the prerequisites to learn.

👉 We can train special educators to teach students with and without IEPs during Tier 1. The students who need more support can get a second dose later to accelerate progress and catch up.

If some students do not have the prerequisites for a whole-group phonics lesson, giving them the same instruction will cause them to drift.

Skill-based groups for Tier 1 give everyone what they need.

Yes, it’s April, but there are still lots of school days left.

Grouping is not just a beginning-of-year move.

Design better minutes now, and use what you learn to build a stronger schedule for next year, too.
