The World Health Organization defines health as complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.

That definition matters for ministry leaders. You can be physically fine and still be running on empty. You can show up every Sunday and still be spiritually depleted.

Wellness researchers break this down into eight dimensions: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial. Each one shapes how you lead, how you love your family, and how you hear from God.

This National Wellness Month, take an honest inventory. Which of these eight areas have you been neglecting in the name of ministry?

The "model minority" myth is a harmful stereotype that assumes Asian Americans are universally successful, perpetually self-reliant, and free from struggle.

For many Asian-American men, this creates an immense, often invisible pressure. It sets an impossible standard, expecting them to be flawless providers and stoic high-achievers who never need help. Because of this drive to succeed and the fear of bringing shame to their families, it becomes incredibly difficult for these men to admit when they are battling anxiety, stress, or depression.

The numbers reflect this silent struggle. Asian-American adults are three times less likely to seek mental health services than White adults, with only about 25% of those who need help actually receiving it.

But your worth in God’s eyes is not measured by your productivity, your accolades, or your perfection. God sees you, loves you, and offers rest for your soul. Victory is finding peace when you step out from under the pressure and realize that seeking counsel is an act of deep wisdom.

Let’s build ministries that replace pressure with grace.

In many Hispanic and Latino communities, cultural expectations of machismo dictate that men must always be the providers, the protectors, and the stoic rocks of the family.

Because of this, only about 36% of Hispanic adults with mental illness receive treatment each year. The fear of appearing weak or burdening the family keeps too many Latino men suffering in the shadows.

But here is the truth: Healing yourself is one of the greatest ways you can protect your family. Victory is found when a man steps forward to say, "I am hurting, and I need support."

When we create church environments where vulnerability is welcomed rather than judged, we open the door to true, generational healing.

For generations, Black men have been told that strength means carrying heavy burdens in silence. But that silence is taking a toll.

Statistically, only 1 in 3 African Americans who need mental health care receive it, and su***de rates among Black men are roughly four times higher than those of Black women. The pressure to be unbreakable is a heavy cross to bear.

But true strength isn't the absence of struggle; it’s the courage to ask for help. Victory for Black men looks like laying down the armor, seeking therapy, and finding a safe community to process their pain. Even Jesus wept and asked for support in His darkest hour.

Your mental health matters. You don't have to carry it all alone.
