The Blessed Virgin Mary’s own birth prepared the way for Christ’s Incarnation.

Her Nativity reveals the magnificent ways God works through seemingly impossible circumstances for the good of all.

As the Byzantine Vespers for this feast proclaims: “Today is the prelude of universal joy.”

Mother Mary, pray for us!

Today, we celebrate the feast of our patron, St. Augustine!

Augustine reminds us of our need for the knowledge of Christ through the opening words of his Confessions: “fecisti nos ad te,” or “you have made us for yourself.” Through this knowledge, we are united to the Triune God, who alone can satisfy our hearts.

May we grow in an untiring devotion to study and writing in service of the Gospel, imitating St. Augustine as we seek to communicate its saving truth to those around us.

Enjoy this guide for discovering the life and thought of this wonderful saint. St. Augustine, pray for us!

As her son, St. Augustine, spoke, “The Lord’s absence is not an absence. Have faith, and the one you cannot see is with you.” (Sermon 235.3-4)

St. Monica, pray for us!
