Join us for a night of music at the Florissant Performing Arts Center dedicated to launching the next generation of artists and musicians in North County. Our third in the “Stardust Serenade” series, this year’s benefit concert, titled “Taking Flight,” will feature songs from pop music, the classical world, and Broadway. Northwinds is proud to participate in this event where the stage will be filled with a variety of acts, including soloists, a full chorus, and string orchestra comprised of current and former members of the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Since the first concert in 2022, the “Stardust Serenade” concerts have raised more than $20,000 for the Mary and Ike Eichenberger Music Scholarship as well as the Music Departments of the Ferguson-Florissant School District.

Northwinds is excited to be returning to Germany and Austria at the end of this month!
Northwinds, under long-time director Larry Marsh, was hosted in 2005 by the Musikapelle Rothenbach under the direction of Oskar Bihler. The Röthenbach band visited St. Louis in 2003 and 2008, performing concerts here.
Current director Hadley Haux will lead the band in concerts in Hergensweiler, Röthenbach, and Munich, with time for sightseeing around the Bodensee (Lake Constance), Hohenschwangau, and Salzburg as well.

Come and hear the wonderful musicians of Northwinds this Sunday at 3pm at the Florissant Performing Arts Center.
We’ll celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday with Gould’s classic “American Salute” and the “George Washington Bicentennial March” by Sousa. Enjoy a nod to Mel Brooks in his centennial year with music from “The Producers,” directed by Larry Marsh. You will also get tributes to musician/songwriters Irving Berlin, Billy Joel, and Chuck Mangione; a nod to 80’s band A-Ha with our version of “Take on Me;” a tip of the hat to the Olympics; new music from Rossano Galante; and special music selected for Northwinds’ tour to Germany this June – “St. Louis Blues” and “Germania Marsch.” Don’t miss this!

Northwinds is excited to present our principal clarinetist Russell Roussin performing the legendary Artie Shaw Concerto for Clarinet and Band. Originally composed by Shaw for the 1940 Fred Astaire film "Second Chorus," this jazz-inflectioned concerto is a benchmark work for clarinet, and a monument of the swing era. We're thrilled to feature Russell on this work!
