Summer is a great time to explore and learn together as a family! SSD’s FACE (Family and Community Engagement) encourages families to take advantage of the many educational and affordable opportunities our community has to offer this summer. When students visit places like the Zoo, Art Museum, or Science Center, they experience things that cannot be replicated in a classroom. Educators call this building background knowledge—the real-world experiences that help students better understand what they read and learn in school.

Don't forget! Tonight, SSD is hosting our annual Special Education Curriculum Review Night. Special education curricula will be reviewed before being submitted to the SSD Board of Education for approval. This is an optional event and all are welcome to attend as many course reviews as they wish. Both events will be held virtually over Zoom.

❗ This meeting reviews the curriculum used in SSD's special education schools, not our partner districts.

To learn more, see the list of courses to be reviewed, or join the virtual meeting: www.ssdmo.org/CurriculumReview
