Fremont Re-2 School District

Fremont Re-2 School District This is the official page of the Fremont Re-2 School District. Fremont RE-2 School District is a consolidated and joint school district.

The district serves the communities of Williamsburg, Rockvale, Coal Creek, Penrose, and Wetmore. Florence is the home of the district's administration offices, Fremont Elementary School, Fremont Middle School, and Florence High School, newly built in 2006. Penrose is home to a K-5 elementary school built in 2005. Florence is located in close proximity to Canon City, Pueblo and Colorado Springs, an

d a two-hour drive from Denver. The Plains and Pueblo Reservoir lie about 20 minutes east of Florence. The area is indeed blessed with great diversity in geography, enterprise and culture. The city of Florence has become a mecca for antique dealers and shoppers. Penrose is rich in agricultural produce, especially apple orchards, and Wetmore is a fertile ranching community

The Climate in the area of the Arkansas Valley has been known as the "Banana Belt". Winters are generally mild and summers are warm but comfortable. Fremont County
is a great place to live and enjoy.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› AUGUST COMMUNITY THANK YOU ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

As we opened our doors yesterday for the start of another school year, we were reminded once again that Fremont RE-2 is surrounded by an incredible community.

This month, we are especially grateful to:

โœจ El Pomar Foundation Regional Council
โœจ Black Hills Energy and John Vigil
โœจ Paisley Atkinson and Amanda Atkinson

Their generosity is supporting our students in meaningful waysโ€”from helping strengthen our Weekend Food Bag Program to making sure students begin the school year with the supplies they need to feel ready and confident.

๐Ÿ’™ El Pomar Foundation Regional Council and Black Hills Energy, with the support of John Vigil, have made generous investments in our Weekend Food Bag Program. Their support helps us continue providing food to students and families who may need a little extra support over the weekend. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to caring for our students beyond the school day.

๐Ÿ’› A special shoutout to Paisley, who raised $900 through her lemonade stand and turned those efforts into backpacks filled with school supplies for students at Florence and Penrose Elementary. What an incredible example of kindness making a difference.

The start of a new school year is always a reminder that it takes more than those inside our classrooms to make a district great. We are incredibly thankful for the businesses, organizations, families, and community members who continue to give a little extra for our students.

Thank you for believing in Fremont RE-2 and investing in our kids.

Updated Visitor Check-In Procedures

To help maintain a safe and secure learning environment, Fremont Re-2 School District has updated its visitor entry procedures.

During school hours:

All visitors must enter through the main entrance and use the intercom to request access.
Visitors will be admitted into the secure vestibule and asked to present a valid government-issued photo ID.
All visitors entering the school beyond the secure vestibule will be screened through the Raptor Visitor Management System and issued a visitor badge. The school will retain the visitorโ€™s government-issued photo ID until the visitor checks out and returns the visitor badge.
The visitor badge must be worn and visible at all times while in the building.
Visitors must return to the front office to check out.

These procedures are designed to enhance the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement these important security measures.

Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe.
